An overnight experience on the water for young anglers — taught by professional fishermen on state-of-the-art boats. All backgrounds welcome. All skill levels, too.
Jed's fondest childhood memories were summer camp. By age 13 his goal was clear: own and operate a world-class bass fishing camp for kids who loved to fish more than anything else.
Since then, he's built the credentials to back it up. He started as a CIT at his local camp in New Jersey, went on to work with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Gainesville, FL, served as director of tennis at Candlewood Isle, and spent 16 years teaching middle school.
At Candlewood Fishing Camp, your young angler will connect with nature, make lifelong friends, and catch some of the biggest bass of their life.
Whether your kid has never held a rod or fishes every weekend — we have a session built for them. All programs run on Candlewood Lake with professional guides.
The full Candlewood experience. Multi-day overnight sessions on the lake — morning and evening fishing with guides, technique instruction, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
First time on the water? Perfect. Junior Angler builds the fundamentals — casting, knot tying, reading water, and landing their first big bass — in a structured, pressure-free environment.
For serious young anglers with their sights on competition. Learn post-spawn bass techniques, tournament strategy, and train alongside MLF Pro Chad Mrazek on one of Bassmaster's Top 25 lakes.
Candlewood Lake and Lake Champlain are both Bassmaster Top 25 Best Lakes for Bass in the country. Campers don't just fish great water — they fish it with the people who know it best.
Campers at Candlewood Fishing Camp fish alongside MLF Pro Chad Mrazek — a competitive professional angler at the top level of the sport. This isn't a counselor reading from a manual. This is the real thing.
"My son just attended a week at Candlewood Fishing Camp and had one of the greatest experiences of his life! They fished every morning and evening with guides on top of the line boats and learned how to fish in different situations. Jed and his counselors were great with the kids. My son is counting down to the next camp already."
"We especially liked the no electronics policy. It was refreshing to see kids fully engaged in learning, being outdoors, and making real friends. The instruction was incredible — our son came home with skills we didn't even know he'd pick up. Best camp decision we've ever made."
Candlewood Fishing Camp is committed to offering this experience to kids regardless of their ethnicity, economic background, or mental health condition. We mean that.
Through our partnership with The Maddie Fund for Mental Health and Wellness, we actively work to ensure camp is accessible to every young angler who needs it.
